![]() ![]() Mostly, she is shown to be a resilient, emotionally deep, clever, proud woman, who has a tendency to sometimes be overly controlling, and whose strong sexual appetites occasionally lead her to make regretable mistakes. However, it also explores her character in many other ways by recounting her responses to various emotional trials. The fandom tends to maintain her promiscuity as a central part of her character and a major factor in shaping her relationships. Also her appearance in the original implies an upper-middle-class, fashion-concious woman with high-rolling ambitions, whereas in the remake, her heavily tattooed and pierced body implies a rebellious, 'rock & roll chick'-type. ![]() In the remake she seems more prone to becoming depressed and resigning herself to unpleasant fates. In the original she shows a strong will and a feisty temprement towards adversity. Her personality deviates significantly between the original Cabin Fever and the remake. Later, Marcy tried to help and comfort Karen, even though doing so placed her in enormous risk of contracting Karen's illness. When Karen fell deathly ill, Marcy was the most remorseful about exiling her from the cabin. However, she has also shown herself to be especially selfless and kindhearted. She has often been regarded as a shallow coed obsessed with sex. Marcy was canonically implied to be extremely promiscuous and for many fans of Cabin Fever, this was her most memorable character trait. This complexity is often acknowledged, explored and developed in fan works. While superficially appearing quite shallow in the canon material, character studies within the fan community have found Marcy to be one of the most complex characters in the film. She has met his parents and it's implied she gets along well with them. She has been in a romantic/sexual relationship with Jeff for some time by the commencement of the Cabin Fever story. ![]() The canon provides little background information about Marcy, except that she attended college (a period which she apparently didn't enjoy ) with friends Jeff, Paul, Karen and Bert. I take this time to plead to Eli Roth if he has any say at all, to not allow this to happen.Marcy is a primary character in both the original Cabin Fever and its 2016 remake. But nope, not even the ‘Truffle Shuffle’ will be able to save this remake from the impending doom that surrounds it and everyone involved. Maybe for this one, they’ll get another star of The Goonies to get onboard to drum up interest since Sean Astin starred in Cabin Fever: Patient Zero and that did so well. No matter how much bitching I or anyone else does, it seems that quite possibly the most unnecessary horror remake ever (in terms of time between the original) will be happening for sure. The movie gave me an excessive fear of karate-kicking kids who like to yell “ Pancakes!” and a fear of shaving my legs if I ever did shave my legs. But why oh why do we have to even attempt to remake movies that are only 12 years old? It stings even more for me with this one, because I honestly love Eli Roth’s original Cabin Fever. I myself have a nice little side business going with selling old Garbage Pail Kids stickers on Ebay right now, so I understand that the struggle is real. I get that people need to make money in these hard times. In case you’re not up on the sarcasm these days, that last sentence was drenched in it. Word broke a few days ago that after the massive success of the last Cabin Fever sequel called Cabin Fever: Patient Zero, a remake of the original 2002 Eli Roth movie is in place instead of another fantastic sequel. Ok – I had to get that out of the way real quick.
